Interactive periodic table colored by element type: alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, transition metals, halogens, noble gases, metalloids and more. ElementWorks is a free interactive periodic table: hover an element to preview it, click it for its full card, or pick another view from the Show menu.
Elements are grouped by shared properties: alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, transition metals, post-transition (other) metals, metalloids, nonmetals, halogens, noble gases, and the lanthanides and actinides. The metalloids (boron, silicon, germanium, arsenic, antimony, tellurium and astatine in this table) sit along the staircase between metals and nonmetals.

Metals, nonmetals and metalloids, which are further divided into families such as alkali metals, halogens and noble gases.
Boron, silicon, germanium, arsenic, antimony and tellurium are the usual six, and this table also includes astatine.
Most elements are metals, found to the left and in the center. Nonmetals are on the upper right, with metalloids along the dividing line.
